The Catholic Chaplain

I am Fr John Patrick Thomas (Fr JP) the Catholic Chaplain to the universities of Cardiff (Cardiff, Cardiff Met, South Wales and The Royal College of Music and Drama) as well as Chaplain to Nazareth House and On-Call Chaplain for Cardiff and Vale Health Board. I am based in The Chaplaincy 62 Park Place Cardiff CF10 3AS.

I have a wide interest in Scripture, theology, learning the Welsh Language (I celebrate the Eucharist now and again in Yr Iaith Mam) and I love travelling. I have worked in varying pastoral roles over 33 years: in parish ministry, primary and secondary schools as chaplain and governor, in hospitals; I have been part time chaplain to Dyfed Powys Police, Officiating chaplain to the Forces as well as involved in co-ordinating and overseeing the On-going Formation of Clergy (In-service training). In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, meeting up with my mates, cinema, theatre and galleries.
